Mission Statement: 

The BullETin Magazine is a publication committed to informing, educating and entertaining the students and staff of El Toro High School, so that they may formulate their own opinions and views on local and national issues. 

The BullETIn seeks to uphold the standards of ethics and professionalism set forth by the society of professional journalism. 

The BullETin recognizes its right to exercise freedom of speech and of the press, as guaranteed by California Education Code 48907, where it’s stated that these rights may not be restrained except in the case that materials published under their publication are deemed obscene, libelous, or slanderous. 

“Pupils of the public schools, including charter schools, shall have the right to exercise freedom of speech and of the press including, but not limited to, the use of bulletin boards, the distribution of printed materials or petitions, the wearing of buttons, badges, and other insignia, and the right of expressions in official publications, whether or not the publications or other means of expression are supported financially by the school or by use of school facilities, except that expression shall be prohibited which is obscene, libelous, or slanderous.” -California Student Free Expression LAw, Cal. EDC § 48907 (1997).
